Job Description:
The Data Scientist will be responsible for gathering and analyzing large sets of structured and unstructured data. They will analyze, process, and model data then interpret the results to create actionable plans for client and its customers. The individual in this role will utilize scientific methods, processes, algorithms and systems to extract knowledge and insights from structured and unstructured data, and apply knowledge and actionable insights from data across a broad range of application domains. The employee will need to understand how to create and manipulate large data sets and use data normalization and cleansing tools to meet the needs of customers. To ensure adoption by the business, this position will be required to ensure the quality of each dashboard release, data refresh, and adhere to a regular refresh and dashboard publishing schedule. The individual in this role will need to be able to perform the following functions: - Refresh analysis data on a regular basis and publish new dashboards. - Work with, establish working relationships, and develop a strong working knowledge of business processes, strategic vision, and overall mission. - Ensure data accuracy by quality checking each analysis prior to publishing. - Build new data visualizations to demonstrate business performance and uncover opportunity. - Participate in business/IT projects that will enhance the quality of the data to be used in the visualization tool and ensure data sets utilize core data wherever possible. - Compile and analyze data from a variety of applications, systems, and sources to create/summarize for analysis. - Conducting deep dive analyses with data stewards and business subject matter experts or developing new data sources and analytical models to identify opportunities to drive value & innovation in HR.
Required Skills:
Detailed knowledge of relational databases and supporting application design and development tools and languages.Experience with Descriptive analytics, Regression analysis, and Cohort analysis.Experience with, and/or strong understanding of programming languages, machine learning, and statistics.Experience with statistical research techniques, including modeling, data mining, clustering, and segmentation.Excellent interpersonal, team player, and oral/written communications skills are essential.Knowledge of HR applications.Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, Business or related field, or equivalent experience in the referred areas.Previous experience with the Power Platform including Power BI.Experience in the use and development of prevalent web technologies.Previous experience standing up the Power Platform environment at another Virginia agency.
