The Export Specialist will be responsible for ensuring US imports/exports are declared and shipped in compliance with U.S. regulations and Global Trade Compliance (GTC) standards. This role will include activities prior to shipment as well as transactional entry activities aligned with US Customs, Census, FDA, USDA, FWS, CDC, and other Partner Government Agencies (PGA) requirements. Position will work with Global Trade Compliance (GTC), site shipping personnel, and Clinical and Research stakeholders. Position will also interact with Logistics, Transportation, Clinical Country Operations overseas, and outside vendors/shippers. Key challenges will include influencing all constituents and stakeholders to following trade policy and procedures and solving shipment specific issues when they arise.Responsibilities:Review shipment request information and shipping documents to ensure compliance with GTC global standards and local import Standard Business PracticesEnsure all trade attributes required by US Customs, Census and applicable PGAs are complete in our Global Trade Management system to ensure compliant import broker clearance instructions or export declarations.Work with GTC COE group to obtain HTS classifications and FDA Product Code assignments when neededWork within our Trade Operations Import Standard Business Practices and align with policy set by Global Trade ComplianceInfluence external stakeholders to comply with Standard Business Practices developed by MRL Trade OperationsSupport U.S. shipping sites with U.S. import or export transaction challengesContribute to special projects and assignments related to international trade as neededQualificationsBachelors degree or higher requiredMinimum of 3-5 years functional expertise with international trade or equivalent. Knowledge of US Customs Import regulations and related experiencePrior experience interfacing with international companiesPrior hands-on experience using Microsoft products (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word)Prior experience with global trade management systems like SAP GTS or Integration Point, or similar databases, very desirable.Proficient in EnglishDemonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skillsSustained level of high performance while quickly processing high volumes of workAs part of our promise to talent, Kelly supports those who work with us through a variety of benefits, perks, and work-related resources.
