Competitive Range Solutions requires the expertise of a talented and experienced Principal Network Engineer to assist in directing and managing the program's executive support group. The candidate must reference their ability and experience working in a Department of Defense (DoD) customer environment and effective integration with a government multi-contractor team.
The Principal Network Engineer leads our Rapid Response Team to ensure urgent break-fixes and address high-priority requirements in response to incidents, including support for VIPs and other mission-critical tasks. This position requires a deep understanding of network connectivity and equipment maintenance and the ability to work closely with multiple specialized teams within the organization to provide seamless and efficient solutions.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the Rapid Response Team in conducting urgent break-fixes and addressing high-priority requirements to meet mission needs. This includes specialized support for VIP/GO Quarters, Presidential visits, and critical incidents.Oversee and ensure the integrity of network connectivity at all VIP/GO quarters within the scope of DoD's responsibility, including anticipating future expansions.Lead the implementation, management, installation, maintenance, and removal of all related equipment in line with DoD-approved standards. Equipment types include but are not limited to, encryption devices, VoIP and VoSIP devices, and auxiliary power supplies.Direct the lifecycle maintenance of all transport devices and supporting equipment, ensuring long-term efficiency and reliability.Oversee and ensure the quality of patching and cabling for DoD devices in VIP/GO quarters.Provide strategic support to Crisis Management Teams (CMT) in managing cost transfers and updating user agreements with the customer base.Ensure the preparation and accuracy of the Rapid Response Team Monthly Report, detailing all work performed, including man-hours and materials used, in support of the month's requirements.Qualifications/Experience:
Active Secret ClearanceExpert knowledge of network connectivity management and equipment maintenance, including familiarity with encryption devices, VoIP/VoSIP devices, and auxiliary power systems.Proficiency in DoD-approved standards and architecture drawings.Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing complex network solutions.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly diagnose and address network issues.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.Demonstrated leadership qualities and the ability to mentor and develop junior team members.Availability to work on-call or outside standard working hours, as required for emergency response situations.Education/Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, engineering, or related field (required)Network Administrator/Engineer Certification (required)
