Job DescriptionOur client is seeking a

Database Administrator II

to maintain the integrity, security, and availability of multiple databases. The successful candidate will conduct performance analysis and tuning, disaster recovery, index maintenance, and monitoring of data.

This is an onsite role in Annapolis Junction, MD.

Responsibilities

Establish and maintain database user accountsAdminister, maintain, and implement policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the databasesOrganize and format data for efficient query and storage processesEvaluate requirements and recommend available DBMS productsProvide server administration with a variety of database products that include Oracle, SQL Server, and SYBASEDevelop policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the databasesPerform database and software lifecycle activities to ensure highest level of system performance and availabilitySupport data modeling activities by way of prototype database implementationsCoordinate database architecture changes with Database Engineers (DBEs)Direct the monitoring, administrating, and implementing performance on database systems as well as database performance optimization, developing/changing database indices, redesigning database structure, and reloading data into a databaseDirect the installation of database management systems, databases, tables, and viewsDirects the administration and use of current and emerging database tools, strategies, and technologies

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university (4+ years of experience as a Database Administrator may be substituted for a degree)10+ years of experience as a Database Administrator in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
