Specifications are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job.SUMMARYARCTICOM, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation, is currently seeking a qualified System Analyst in support of Supply Chain Management Support Services for the Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY) Base Support Office support in Portsmouth, VA.Responsibilities:ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESWork encompasses the performance of a single source provider that will perform integrated supply chain management, as well as, Inventory Management and Stock Positioning (IMSP) organization and implementation as required by the Norfolk Naval Shipyards Base Support Office in Portsmouth, VA. The contract will provide supply support services to Norfolk Naval Shipyard and assist in its mission of IMSP future implementation. This effort shall be individually tailored due to the uniqueness of NNSYs supply chain, inventory management system, program/project workload and shall enhance lines of communication for interaction between NNSY and its codes/projects. Focus of the job is to develop, assist, coordinate, and maintain day-to-day operations of NNSYs supply chain management functions. Requires understanding of distribution operations, general supply functionality and identification of system issues and analysis to determine for recommendation, improvements, define inefficiencies and support of NNSY effort to establish improved Supply Support operations to the industrial effort.Qualifications:QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONRequired QualificationsMust have a bachelors degree or equivalent of 6 years general logistics experience and at least 5 consecutive years of experience in the Navy Supply Logistics Field.Full knowledge of technical concepts and the ability to identify technical problems and provide solutions.Full knowledge of DLA and NAVSEA IT Systems and integrations.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesDOD and Navy Supply SystemsDLA Systems and procedures familiarityIndustrial Supply Support processes, finances and work package concepts.PreferredExperience in Navy Supply Systems including wholesale and retail management of material.Knowledge of Navy Shipyard processes and Industrial Supply Support elements.Experience with CPI/Lean concepts to participate in process improvements and flows.NECESSARY PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Employees must always maintain a constant state of mental alertness. In the office setting exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESSome supervisory requirements over personnel and projects required.ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORSAs a condition of employment, may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to military base. Must have reliable transportation to/from work a necessity and must be able to obtain access to military installations.Shareholder Preference.
