Working with the business partner, the IT Business Analyst is responsible for using appropriate methods to plan, organize, and conduct all aspects of Business Needs Assessment, most commonly referred to as Business Requirements for the development of manual or automated systems and procedures that are cost effective, creative, and that meet user’s needs. The IT Business Analyst plays a durable role throughout the Development Lifecycle that includes gathering and documenting business requirements, creating use case scenarios, modeling business process, and participating in the overall planning and testing that will ensure the system delivered meets the needs of the business. This position will also provide production support and must have the ability to research root cause of issues using analytical tools.At this level:The business analyst is able to conceive, plan, and implement original approaches to complex business needs.The business analyst works independently in strong collaboration with managers and high level technical experts.The impact of work is significant, where the quality may affect the achievement of critical objectives in multiple departments or projects.There is close and frequent interaction with business across multiple departments and established systems. The business analyst is the principal contact for complex systems and processes.There is broad authority and in-depth knowledge in area of expertise. The business analyst provides high-level technical contributions, and is recognized as a leading resource in a specific business area.The business analyst acts as an internal and external consultant across the departments and systems, and is competent to work at the highest level of all phases of the profession.Must be very good at Conducting DCO sessions and capturing requirements in Pega.Must have the ability to work independently and deliver results quickly under pressure.Must have a high level of accuracy in building requirements and validating results by performing unit testing and working with users.Health Care Claims and Benefits knowledge preferred.Experience:Requirements and Scope Management – assisting the business in building upon the project definition, description and vision document, which may include scope, risk, and identification of stakeholders; planning, coordinating, and creating written documentation that clearly describes the needs of the business, which may include Business Requirements, Business Use Cases, Process Models, Business Needs Analysis, or Conceptual Design Documents; may plan, coordinate, and create Test Strategy and Test Plans, and other supporting documentation as needed.Analysis and Design – in the Analysis and Design phase of the project lifecycle, the Business Analyst is directly responsible for gathering requirements, researching and analyzing existing, and proposed solutions in the development, modification, or enhancement of programs or systems; the Business Analyst will engage in dependency analysis, functional design, work flow analysis, use case analysis, data and process modeling and have a clear understanding of the current and future business rules.Conduct DCO sessions and help business streamline the process flows and capture the requirements in Pega.Planning and Control – preparing and planning all aspects of the Requirements discipline, including controlling or participating in estimating, feasibility analysis, meeting facilitation, management and executive reporting, change request management, issue tracking, process improvements, and project planning.QA and Test Support – preparing or participating in the Testing discipline, including Test Planning, incident research and analysis, Test strategy, QA and CAT functions, as needed.Crisis Management – providing hotline support as needed throughout the project lifecycle, participating directly in issue resolution, break and hot fix support, and triage in the identification and resolution of all project incidents, documentation maintenance and traceability as related to the Requirements discipline.Customer Focus and Partnership – is an advocate for the business, by providing first class service through the expert development of the Requirements discipline; lending subject matter expertise and knowledge management to the project team and stakeholders; supporting and taking pride in the assurance of total customer benefit and satisfaction for the product delivery.Mentoring and Coaching – is a champion of change, process, and best practices to both the business and technical team members, providing training, leadership and coaching for the Requirements discipline; leading a team of business analysts for large development efforts; lending both functional and technical system-specific knowledge throughout the project lifecycle.Other – will perform other duties as assigned to successfully promote the Circle of Excellence for the Requirements Discipline, and the overall project and departmental success.Education:6+ years of business analysis or similar experience in a technical environment, supporting large teams of business, IT staff, and executive management.Four-year college degree required. With specific approval, equivalent combination of post-high school education and work experience may be acceptable.Demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of personnel and communicate clearly in a professional manner, requiring strong organizational, administrative and interpersonal skills, both oral and written.Ability to be an advocate with the business in analyzing and documenting clear documentation appropriate for the Requirements discipline.Expert knowledge and experience with Pega BPM and DCO.Health care and insurance business knowledge.Pega Certified Business Architect is highly desirable.Ability to work in high pressure situations requiring non-standard work hours, deadlines and moving priorities.2590 N.
