Uplift Games, the innovative studio behind the record-breaking game Adopt Me on the Roblox platform (35+ billion visits, 1.92 million record CCU), is seeking a skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our dynamic team.It is essential that you value diversity and want to work alongside talented people from marginalized groups. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be our sole in-house data engineer who architects and maintains all of our data infrastructure, and builds pipelines in collaboration with our senior data analyst and engineering team. Your role will involve collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including game designers, developers, artists and product owners, to ensure the robustness and scalability of our data infrastructure.Your expertise in managing data pipelines will be pivotal in driving our analytics capabilities, providing invaluable insights into player behavior and game performance. Additionally, experience in data analysis will be a great help to support our existing data team.Your Background
These are the things candidates really should have but can make up for in other areas. If you’re missing one or two, consider applying anyway, especially if you belong to a marginalized group.Experience in designing and engineering large-scale data systems, with at least three years working with large-scale game data.Familiarity with containerization and service orchestration, including Docker and Kubernetes.Proficiency in data engineering tools such as ElasticSearch, and Big Query on Google Cloud Platform.Familiarity with open-source data visualization tools, particularly Kibana and/or GrafanaExperience in data analysis and visualization, especially SQL.Strong work ethic and curiosity for new technologies. You take initiative and thrive, even with minimal guidance.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.Passion for game development and a desire to make a significant impact on millions of players.Commitment to diversity and inclusion, actively supporting team members from marginalized groups.
