Scope of PositionOversee distribution personnel and procedures, as well as daily operations within the facility. Strong communication skills required to act as a liaison with peers and customers on a daily basis. Focus on overseeing a strong team and managing all inbound and outbound activity with energy, leadership, vision, support and professionalism.Major Duties and ResponsibilitiesDaily workload distribution and prioritizationProvide leadership and development to subordinatesUphold all policies and procedures to the highest levelFocus on process and process improvement initiatives with a focus on qualityAttend daily calls with customers and focus on managing operational relationshipMotivate and encourage employees to achieve the highest level of success in the work placeScheduling of all personnelEnsure compliance of governing authoritiesLook for creative means to provide a successful operationGood interpersonal skills, good computer skillsEnsure inbound freight is offloaded in a timely, efficient and orderly manner and all customer KPIs are met and monitoredEnsure all freight is on handed and put away per required facility means utilizing all system technology and all customer KPIs are met and monitoredStrong focus on inventory managementHold regular team huddles including department updatesUphold an extremely clean and safe environment on a daily basisOversee a workboard and prioritize tasks accordinglyOther assignments as assigned by managementQualifications
Bachelors degree or equivalentFive years logistics experienceExperience leading a teamIdeally able to twist, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis as needed in warehouse.Additional Information
