About The Role
Pinecone is seeking a skilled and highly motivated Senior Data Scientist to build out foundational Product Growth metrics, exploratory analytics, and forecasting . As part of the Data org you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deliver conversion funnel metrics, cohort and segment analysis, and user and workload classifications to help understand our user base and how they use Pinecone to inform and evaluate Product development and launches.
You will work in a fast-paced and rewarding environment that demands the highest quality work with minimal supervision. And as we all do a little bit of everything, you will also be a strong generalist, work directly with executive leadership, and mentor new data engineers and scientists.
Responsibilities
Partner with Product, Engineering, and Design teams to help drive insights, identify opportunities, and understand user behavior and long-term trendsDefine, understand, and test opportunities and levers for growth, and drive roadmaps through your insights and recommendationsPerform deep dive analysis to understand and optimize the key levers for growthDefine and monitor key metrics through consistent tracking, KPI’s, and dashboardsProactively socialize insights, dashboards, and reports with technical and non-technical audiencesCollaborate with data and engineering teams to design scalable and future-proof instrumentation
What We Look For
You have 5+ years previous experience as a data scientist, data analyst, or data engineer, preferably within a Growth orgYou have the ability to translate raw data into meaningful business insights and be able to tell a story with dataYou have strong knowledge of statistics and experimental designYou possess a natural curiosity and strive to uncover the deeper relationships that are not always immediately discoverableYou have experience writing and optimizing complex SQL queries for large data sets and are familiar with a scientific programming language, such as R or PythonYou are an excellent storyteller and able to communicate your findings with clarity and precision, whether through writing or visualizations
