Perplexity is looking for an experienced Front End Engineer to join our team revolutionizing the way people search and interact with the internet. You will be responsible for building UI to enable Software 3.0: creating native AI products with data. You will work on the cutting edge of LLM data, training, and evaluation tooling.

Our frontend stack is NextJS, TypeScript, and Tailwind. The ideal candidate should have strong programming skills, an interest in search and large language models, and a passion for building tools that increase the speed of iteration and quality of LLMS.

Responsibilities

Developing new user interfaces for Perplexity's evolving technologies, specifically for LLM and data tooling.Maintaining and improving existing user interfaces for current products.Creating reusable component libraries that drive our internal AI tooling's front-end.Leading decisions on tool usage and coding best practices.

Qualifications

Strong experience with React and TypeScript.Interest in building novel AI tools and experiences.Proven skills in optimizing NextJS projects for peak performance.Familiarity with porting codebases to the latest framework features, such as RSC and streaming.Passion for writing reusable code.Thrives in a small, agile team and is willing to take ownership.Meticulous attention to detail.

Our cash compensation range for this role is $160,000 - $200,000.

Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including, experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.

Equity: In addition to the base salary, equity is part of the total compensation package.
