One of our premier clients is looking for a Linux System Administrator to come in and collaborate with the team to ensure continued success. This person will need to be knowledgeable enough to make technical recommendations to the team as well as have the communication skills to champion those ideas.\n\n *This position is contract to hire, and fully onsite to start at the client's office in Glen Allen, VA. Will go to hybrid once hired candidate is acclimated to the role*\n\n
Must Haves:\n\n - Experience in RHEL 8.\n\n - NFS (Network File System) experience\n\n - Bash scripting experience\n\n - Experience writing scripts\n\n - Experience with Red Hat Satellite and patching\n\n - Ansible experience\n\n
Responsibilities:\n\n This person will manage multiple Linux based systems. \n\n\t
Implementing all Linux applications and documenting procedures; \n\tCoordinating hardware and software installations and upgrades; \n\tMaintaining software patches for both security and systems stability; \n\tMonitoring system performance and capacity; \n\tCompleting performance tuning and optimization activities on an ongoing basis; \n\tPerforming backup and recovery on Linux systems; \n\tProviding third-level support for the client's MIS Helpdesk; \n\tTraining team members as directed. \n\n
Minimum Requirements:

Five years or more of enterprise level Red Hat Systems Administrator experience (Red Hat 7 and 8); \n\tTwo years or more working Red Hat 8 and its related technologies; \n\tFive years or more of scripting (shell, Perl) at an advanced level and with a focus on automation of tasks; \n\tStrong knowledge of C programming language or similar; \n\tStrong knowledge of TCP/IP networking; \n\tExperience with HPE hardware (DL380 series) preferred; \n\tExperience with VMware virtualization technologies, specifically with virtual machine life cycle management within vCenter preferred; \n\tMust have experience with NAS and SAN technologies, preferably Cohesity, Racktop, NetApp, and/or Pure; \n\tMust be able to build servers utilizing scripts or other tools specific to Red Hat; \n\tStrong experience with Red Hat Satellite including installation, configuration, management, and systems patching; \n\tExperience using HPE iLO for remote management/administration; \n\tExperience with backup and recovery procedures a must (especially familiarity with Veeam as a plus); \n\tStrong analytical and problem-solving skills; \n\tGood communication skills; \n\tExcellent documentation skills; \n\tMust be willing to learn Reality/Universe/PICK; \n\tAbility to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, including cross-training peers on Linux systems in support capacities; \n\tBachelor's degree in computer science or an equivalent combination of education and experience; \n\tExperience with Unix/Solaris is a plus; \n\tFamiliarity with additional flavors of Linux such as Debian, Ubuntu, and CentOS are a plus; \n\tExperience with cloud-based solutions, particularly Azure, is a plus; \n\tWillingness to learn other technologies handled in the Systems and Infrastructure Team including but not limited to SAN/NAS Administration, virtualization, Windows server deployment, PowerShell scripting, etc. \n\n\n#Dice\n
