Job Summary
We are seeking a Tableau Developer to join our team supporting our Internal Revenue Service (IRS) client.
The Tableau Developer will develop reports, dashboards and visualizations to support business objectives. The Tableau Developer must understand the software’s capabilities and limitations to create, test and deploy code that is aligned with the government’s SDLC requirements. The developer needs to be able to translate business requirements into technical specifications, which are used to generate report and dashboards. The candidate will work across the enterprise to coordinate with the various stakeholders.
PROJECT SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES• Interpret Business requirements for Data Analysis• Develop, Design, Maintain Tableau Workbooks according to best practices.• Graphically represent data using a range of visualizations to extract meaningful actionable intelligence with focus on performance.• Documentation and Unit testing of all work developed in accordance with the government’s development lifecycle requirements.• Support testing resources as needed.• Assist with deployment and Post deployment activities as needed• Maintain the integrity of development work and underlying data through the use of version control systems.
Location of work is remote but candidates ideally will be within driving distance to IRS Federal Buildings in Austin, TX, Farmers Branch, TX or Lanham, MD. Post COVID, there may be meetings that require in person attendance occasionally.
PROJECT SPECIFIC MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university required; an additional four (4) years of related experience may substitute for degree• At least five (5) years of related experience• Tableau development/visualization experience• Experience in Dashboard and workbook development in Tableau• Good experience on dashboards design with large data volumes• Sound knowledge on Tableau architecture, design and development• Good experience in working with Tableau Desktop/Server• Good exposure of data analysis, modeling and designing• Familiarity with best practices around visualization and design• Solid understanding of Relational Database structures• Proficient in PL/SQL or PostgreSQL• Experience in building Data Warehouses, report development using Enterprise Data Warehouses• Good interpersonal and communications skills• Strong analytical, problem solving, and time-management skills in an operational environment• Excellent attention to detail capability• Ability to perform complex tasks with minimal supervision and guidance• Ability to work well independently or in a team setting• Preferred qualifications include: Experience supporting IRS projects; experience working under agile/scrum style processes
Additional Requirements as per Contract:• Candidates must meet requirements to obtain and maintain an IRS Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) clearance (active IRS Moderate Risk MBI clearance is a plus).• Candidates must be a US Citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident (Green Card status) for 3 years, and be Federal Tax compliant.Education and Experience Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Facilitate communication between stakeholders, end users, and the technical team.- Collaborate with business areas and data owners to effectively design solutions as applicable.- Document technical specifications.- Design, develop, code, test, and debug new software or enhancements to existing software of complex software applications.- Perform maintenance on existing software products and contribute knowledge of business applications.- Contribute as necessary to the development of all project artifacts throughout the system development life cycle.
Minimum Requirements:- Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience.- Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.- Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
