KMV is a fast-paced OEM manufacturer that has an opportunity for an Electrical Controls Engineer I to join our growing company. We offer a dynamic environment with room to grow for the right type of highly motivated individuals.The Software / Controls Engineer - Level I is a primary contributor to the engineering team's success.This role reports directly to kmV's Director of Operations and will work closely with kmV's Sr. Controls Engineer. This role, in accordance with project specific requirements, concentrates efforts on Software and Controls development for automated testing equipment.This position calls for a well-organized, self-motivated person, who enjoys a variety of concurrent assignments while working with technology and people. It requires enthusiasm, creativity, flexibility, resiliency, excellent oral and written communication skills, and a professional and courteous personality. The successful candidate will have a hands-on approach to problem solving, be willing to learn and become proficient at programming and troubleshooting automation hardware (e.g., motion controllers, PLC, vision systems, sensors, etc).Responsibilities:Working with fast-paced, world-class, technically savvy clientsDesign, develop, test, deploy, and support electro-mechanical solutions for KMV's customersAssist in developing new automation technologyCollaborating in a supportive, open, high-growth, team environmentHelping drive for, and achieving, excellent project executionHonoring our commitments, being accountable to your teammates and supporting our valuesHelp in concepting automation solutions within a team of project and solution engineersDrafting conceptual function diagrams of inter-related system elements (processors, components, inputs, etc.)Troubleshoot controls system (electrical, communications, software)Writing and testing application code using best practicesCommunicating your process, roadblocks, and status regularlyWorking hands-on with a wide variety of technology and applicationsAbility to travel independently, travel estimate
Requirements:The preferred candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / Computer Information SystemsHighschool diploma or equivalent required2 years of relevant controls system design, coding, or troubleshooting experience required; vision system programming a plusKnowledge of statistical process control (SPC) or engineering level statistics classesComputer literacy and Microsoft Office experience is a mustSome experience with and understanding of mechatronics (e.g., robotics, vision systems)Some experience or exposure with and understanding of automation controlsUnderstanding principles and application of control system software codeAn emerging provider of next generation technology solutions, Applied Industrial Technologies has a growing automation footprint and expanding offering of motion control, machine vision, robotic and IIoT technologies, plus related value-added industrial expertise.
