GIS Analyst.
This is a full-time and hybrid position based in the Falls Church, VA area.
Roles and responsibilities:Analyze, identify, finalize and document requirements based on and analysis of newly identified business requirements.Develop GIS maps and data layersDevelop Technical Specification Document(s) for the new mapping interfaceConduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for the new mapping interfacesCreate Testing ScriptsMonitor user testing and collection of feedbackFollow all agency guidance and procedures with respect to System Security Plans, security regulations, archiving and data management procedures.Manage GIS data and metadata for quality control, and develop and comply with standardsAdditional duties as assignedRequirements
Bachelor's degree in GIS, Computer Science, Environmental Conservation, Ecology or a related field5-7 years of GIS development experience using Esri's ArcGIS (ArcGIS Desktop or ArcPro suite)Experience with ArcGIS Online data management and mappingKnowledge and experience with PostgreSQL and PostGISKnowledge of R or R ShinyBig Data and data modeling experienceUnderstanding of concise metadata writing and effective workflow reproducibilityExperience with spatial data management and manipulationAbility to obtain a Public Trust ClearanceStrong written and oral communication skills are requiredGood analytical skills and a creative self-starter with the ability to work effectively with multiple partnersMust be organized and detail-orientedBiological training or experience preferredBenefits
