Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Senior IT Network Engineer for a long term consulting assignment with a global financial services firm in NYC. The person will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the company's network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network engineering, with expertise in both wired and wireless networks.

Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and manage complex network architectures, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, and VPN solutions.Evaluate and recommend network technologies and tools to enhance performance, security, and reliability.Configure and optimize network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.Troubleshoot network issues and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.Monitor network performance and security, and implement proactive measures to prevent downtime and breaches.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate network solutions with other IT systems and applications.Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior network engineers and IT staff.Participate in on-call rotation and provide support for network emergencies outside of regular business hours.Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering roles.In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP).Hands-on experience with network hardware and software, such as Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, and Aruba.Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices, including firewall configuration, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.Experience with network monitoring and management tools, such as SolarWinds, Nagios, or PRTG.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.Relevant certifications, such as CCNP, CCIE, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent, are preferred.Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
