Overview/ Job Responsibilities
Sev1Tech organization is looking for a Senior Software Developer with strong systems, software, cloud, and Agile experience to support a complex program to provide Agile development and operations and maintenance for critical systems. Based in DevOps framework, participate in and/or direct major deliverables of projects through all aspects of the software development lifecycle including scope and work estimation, architecture and design, coding, and unit testing. the Biometrics Software Developer will support a mission-critical program supporting the Passenger Systems Program Directorate (PSPD). PSPD supports the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and CBP critical missions, specifically screening and processing travelers at the ports of entry (POEs) into the United States.
Primary Responsibilities:Participate in software programming initiatives to support innovation and enhancement, using Java, Hibernate, SpringBoot, and MavenDeveloping and directing software system validation and testing methods using Jenkins pipelinesCoordinate closely with Scrum PMs, teammates, and cross-functional areas to communicate project statuses and initiativesAnalyze data and code to effectively coordinate the installation of new systems or modifications to existing systemsSupport the Agile software development lifecyclePerform systems software development, including deployment of build artifacts across different environmentsCommunicate key project data to team members and build team cohesion and effectivenessDevelop and execute project plans. Leverage Atlassian tool suite like JIRA and Confluence to track activities and required documentationApply best practices and standard operating proceduresCreate innovative solutions to meet the technical needs of customersParticipate in the development of documentationWork Environment:
Remote (Hybrid) (1 day in office Ashburn, VA)
Minimum Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
Candidate must have an active DoD Top Secret or DHS Full BI for considerationPositions requires BS/BA degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience: OR 4 years work experience in lieu of a degreeExpert knowledge of full-stack development in Java, SpringBoot, JavaScript, Python, Bootstrap, Angular, ReactJSExpert understanding of microservices architecture and cloud implementations, using Amazon Web ServicesSolid knowledge of Kubernetes platform including migration activities.Use of industry leading tools like Git, GitHub, Jenkins, Unix bash scriptingExpert knowledge of the software development lifecycleIn-depth experience with common Agile practices, service-orientated environments, and better development practicesIn-depth experience working in an Agile environment.Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)Working knowledge of PostgresSQLUS CitizenshipDesired Qualifications
Clearance:
Proof of U.S. Citizenship with either a Top Secret clearance or prior CBP clearance in the last 5 years; the CBP clearance process can take well over 12 months to adjudicate without a clearance.
Experience with CBP.Solid knowledge of Java developmentSolid knowledge of AWS application migrationWell versed with using version control systemsWell versed with using issue/problem tracking systemsAbility to work well within a small team environment.Strong communication skills
