Our enterprise-level client is seeking to add a Senior Network Engineer to the team in Chicago, IL. Please see below for full details-
Job Notes:-3+ month contract / extendable and perm possible with good performance.-ASAP start date-Hybrid and onsite in Chicago and Aurora, IL.-Drug & Background required.
Job Responsibilities and Requirements :Review the configuration of each Data Center network device and compare that with Org standards, document the gap and share with Network TeamHighlight any Risks identified with suggested recovery steps during the review of the devices.Help building and executing the change along with Customer and Client team to mitigate the gaps identified. Prepare the devices, by reviewing the configuration for April'24 complete failover and resilience test exercise by identifying the gaps and addressing that along with network team. This will require a full review of Network Devices and their configuration of HA, Failover, Load balancing, Resiliency and DRReview and update the required CI information for all DC devices in CMDB.Wherever it's required, physically examine the devices. Review and maintain a list of inventories of all devices which will include their current configuration and any gaps identified like a project plan where we can quickly see the gaps and if the gaps were remediated or not.Help creating Network Runbook for DR exercise and help IT DR team conducting Tabletop and actual Network Runbook TestCreate repeatable work level instructions for Network resiliency test procedure which can be used by BAU team to carry out this testing in future.Create high level documentation to map Network diagram to critical applications. E.g. - Internet link required for org website, SNA for TAP os/2 etc.Collaborate with all other project teams to ensure alignment between all deployment-related activities.Liaising with the customer technical representatives.Job Requirements:
L3 Network Engineer with 10 - 12 yrs.Should have supported Network deployments in large Data CentersHands on and command level knowledge and experience of Cisco Network ProductsShould have at least 6 years of experience in Network operational support/management roles.Excellent knowledge and troubleshooting skills on SD WAN, LAN segmentation, Cisco Switches, Cisco Wireless Access Points, Cisco Wireless Controllers, Cisco Routers, Palo Alto and Checkpoint Firewalls, Cisco, WAN Accelerators and Bandwidth Optimizers, F5 Load Balancers, NetScaler and BlueCoat.Excellent knowledge and troubleshooting skills on Datacenter network including VRF, BGP, OSPF on Nexus OS and NSX-TIdentify potential failures and recommend solution.Excellent Written and Verbal Communication.Good understanding of procedures, application and concepts within own subject area and understanding them in the context of the businessWhy Choose Merge IT?We have a team of talented and ambitious professionals that drive growth by identifying and delivering top quality IT talent for our Fortune 100, enterprise-level clients (aka 'Big Name' - think big banks, big pharma, etc.).
