A construction services company in Nevada is actively seeking an experienced professional to join their team as their new Controller. In this role, the Controller will be responsible for direct supervision of all accounting and financial functions for the company.
Responsibilities:
The Controller will:Manage the accounting department by maintaining accurate and timely financial management reportsSupervise the Accounts Payable department and ensure timely and accurate processing of Accounts Payable and purchase ordersSupervise the Payroll department and ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll related taxes and payroll withholdingWork with CFO to develop accurate and timely work and to facilitate monthly reporting to executive management and the BoardAssist in preparation of annual budgetReview and record journal entries required to reflect monthly activity.Prepare documentation supporting the monthly close process and month-end balancesReview monthly accounting close process including analytical review of the monthly operating results to ensure accurate accounting records are maintainedPrepare monthly financial statements and year-to-date cash flow statementsPerform cash projections to effectively manage cash balances and maximize the return on any excess cash balancesEnsure accurate and timely production of all financial informationAssist with acquisition activities, including developing financial models, due diligence reviews and integration activitiesOversee the acquisition-related purchase and accounting adjustmentsPerform other duties, as neededQualifications:
10+ years of experience in the Accounting & Finance sector5+ years of managing Accountants & overseeing the Accounting & Finance process of a companyBachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or FinanceConstruction Accounting experienceGood GAAP and Financial Reporting technical skillsMicrosoft Office proficient (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)Desired Skills:
MBA and/or CPAExperience in ERP or Accounting software implementation
