The NP functions in an interdependent role by implementing the appropriate "standardized procedures" (SP). By using the SPs the NP is able to change the treatment regimen after observing signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to treatment, general behavior, and physical condition, and determines if they are abnormal findings (Ca Nursing Practice Act, subsection(b) of Section 2725). Provide and coordinate the care of General Surgery patients, provide patient/family education, and promote safe continuity of care. Participate in interdisciplinary and clinical rounds, provide education and support as well as make appropriate referrals. Document services rendered.
Range: $84.82- $121.14/hourlyQualifications
CA RN and CA Nurse Practitioner LicenseState of California NP, National Certification (i.e. ANCC) as of August 2015.BLS Certification from American Red Cross or American Heart AssociationGraduation from accredited School of Nursing -MSN/DNP with a FNP Specialty - required.Demonstrated work experience over 2 years in family practice or internal medicine-requiredWorking knowledge of State of California clinic licensing requirements- requiredDemonstrated work experience of over 2 years in management of outpatient medical problems- requiredDemonstrated experience in supervising and training clinic personnel-requiredInterpersonal skills to effectively communicate with people of various educational, social, cultural and economic backgrounds-requiredLeadership skills to represent project and issues and to initiate problem solving-requiredBilingual Spanish/ English communication skills-preferredWorking knowledge of other health, mental health and social services agencies in the area-preferredAbility to utilize Excel, word, and other software programsAbility to establish and maintain cooperative and collaborative working relationships with administrative, clinical, and academic personnelSkill in working independently and following through with minimum directionAbility to set prioritiesDemonstrate writing skills to compose logical, detailed, and grammatically correct correspondenceDocument patient care in a concise and comprehensive manner
