Description

The APP will provide and coordinate the care of patients, provide patient/family education, promote safe continuity of care, and make appropriate referrals. Perform and document comprehensive history and physical examinations on pre-operative and post-operative patients. Primary responsibilities will be in the outpatient setting, but will assist in the operating room and inpatient neuro ICU/ward when needed. There will be opportunities for clinical research. Manage medical care of established/return/post-op patients in collaboration with attending physicians with an independent outpatient clinic. Assure continuity of patient care on the UCLA Health Neurosurgery service and various outpatient facilities by means of evaluation and management of outpatient to inpatient coordination of care. Act as a liaison between patients and physicians as well as administrative staff and physicians in medically related situations. Review and interpret all diagnostic data and formulate a plan of care in collaboration with physicians and other members of the medical staff. Document services rendered.This is one APP position that will be filled as either a NP or PA.Salary range NP2: $84.82-$121.13/hourlyNP1: $76.51/hourlyQualifications

BLS from American Red Cross or American Heart AssociationACLS from American Heart AssociationCA RN and CA NP License, State of California NP, State of CA NP Furnishing with Schedule II, National Certification (i.e. ANCC)Master's or Doctoral Degree in Nursing in Adult-Gero Acute Care NP Specialty and NPI #, DEA #Enrollment in PECOS, Enrollment in CURESNeurosurgery experience - preferredNP1: less than 6 months experience - if NP1, must have relevant RN experienceAbility to utilize Excel, Word and other software programsAbility to establish and maintain cooperative and collaborative working relationships with administrative, clinical and academic personnelSkill in working independently and following through with minimum directionAbility to set prioritiesDemonstrate writing skills to compose logical, detailed and grammatically correct correspondenceDocument patient care in a concise and comprehensive manner
