You will have opportunities to develop, grow and lead project teams during your time with PRCS and have autonomy in your work.As the Project Management Specialist, you will lead several department-wide projects like re-accreditation, strategic plan implementation, policy and procedure review and updates, DEI efforts, and assist with other forward-facing projects and national and state initiatives. Our PRCS Project Management Specialist serves as a subject matter expert for the department who utilizes knowledge of policies and procedures, analytical tools, and industry trends. This position does not have direct supervision of staff but relies heavily on relationship building and collaborative skills to influence and lead the entire department through these large-scale initiatives. The projects managed by this position will have lasting impacts on the department, surrounding community, and the industry.Loudoun County PRCS has been recognized as a leading example in our industry's accreditation efforts and we will continue that with our anticipated re-accreditation. Responsibilities include managing project teams, assisting staff with project plans, goals, objectives, key performance indicators, and leading the execution of large-scale projects and plans. As Project Management Specialist, you will ensure the department continues to remain a leader in the field with the projects you manage. In this role you will oversee department-wide initiatives to help us achieve our mission of connecting communities through exceptional people, parks, and programs.The ideal candidate will be a service-oriented professional who will ensure our staff are engaged in the departmental projects and best practices work that has already begun. You will work autonomously with project teams and provide executive updates on projects. Under the direction of the Director or Deputy Director, you will manage multiple large-scale projects and be responsible for meeting benchmarks and deadlines through the project teams' efforts.Additional Job Duties IncludeServes in an intermediary role between department senior leadership and department staff on issues and projects.Responds to project-related inquiries from the community, other departments/agencies or the Board of Supervisors and coordinates staff information and responses to ensure accuracy.Plays a key role in department projects and strategic planning efforts (including on industry-standard based accreditation efforts and similar multi-level, multi-year initiatives).Supports and coordinates with cross-departmental project teams.Meets with applicable vendors and contractors.Takes on new and short-notice priority projects to support the assigned department or project area.Approaches problem solving with a creative mindset. Solve most problems autonomously.Coordinates or manages departmental policy review processes.Manages, coordinates, or supports project identification efforts (e.g. needs assessments), large-scale department projects, and cross-divisional collaboration for smaller or more immediate projects.Completes special projects as assigned, independently or as a member of a team.Speaks before various groups as a representative of the assigned department on behalf of the County.Coordinates monitoring and reporting with respect to concluded projects and project related outcomes.Serves as liaison to various advisory groups, committees, and organizations.Anticipated hiring range $65,008.34 - $89,386.47. Desire relevant industry certifications for the assigned department and/or project management credentials; hold or obtain applicable certifications and trainings desired by the assigned department.
