The Senior Technical Field Support Engineer role encompasses providing advanced technical support for the installation, maintenance, and data verification of metering solutions on a national and international scale. Beyond standard troubleshooting, this position involves spearheading complex projects, facilitating international expansion efforts, and integrating new product lines. Responsibilities include proactive problem-solving, identifying long-term solutions, fostering seamless communication among diverse stakeholders, and contributing to operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

A Senior Field Engineer acts as a DRI for a group of focus areas within the Field Engineering organization.

Responsibilities and Duties

Lead the installation of metering solutions by 3rd party electricians nationwide, overseeing complex project execution.Serve as a technical authority on metering and data systems, providing specialized support and guidance.Address critical technical field challenges in real-time, devising innovative solutions to intricate issues.Develop and implement long-term corrective and preventive strategies to enhance system reliability and performance.Ensure rigorous adherence to installation and safety requirements across diverse geographical locations.Provide expert support via various channels, including phone, email, and videoconference, with occasional international travel.Effectively communicate project requirements, modifications, and status updates to internal and external stakeholders.Conduct thorough inspections and reviews to validate correct wiring and networking of meters, especially in international settings.Offer comprehensive guidance and resolutions for intricate installation, commissioning, and configuration issues.Collaborate cross-functionally to drive continuous improvement initiatives and enhance data accuracy across global operations.Expedite resolution of offline meter cases through advanced troubleshooting and technical documentation.Ensure comprehensive completion of scope of work, adhering to international standards and project specifications.Conduct meticulous data verification and ongoing maintenance tasks to uphold system integrity.Lead efforts to improve data accuracy and reliability in diverse field environments, leveraging advanced methodologies and tools.Qualifications and Requirements

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field or licensed as a Journeyman or Master Electrician preferred.In-depth knowledge of gas and water systems, enriching understanding of holistic utility management.Advanced technical proficiency in power meters, facilitating enhanced system monitoring and optimization.Familiar with Python and PowerShell scripting languages, enabling customization and automation of system processes.Experience with Salesforce and Asana platforms, enhancing project management and collaboration capabilities in an international context.Extensive 5+ years’ experience collaborating with electrical contractors, facility managers, or project managers in complex settings.Advanced technical proficiency in data networking and cellular networks, especially in an international context.In-depth understanding of global Electrical Safety standards, NFPA 70e, OSHA, Arc Flash Requirements, and PPE.Demonstrated expertise in managing electrical contractors and providing guidance to electricians in diverse environments.Exceptional technical acumen in three-phase electrical power systems and associated equipment.Comprehensive knowledge of building electrical systems and controls, with experience in international deployments.Proven record of accomplishment in designing and implementing technical training programs for diverse audiences.Strong grasp of project management workflows, order fulfillment processes, and post-sales service/support.Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels.Detail-oriented mindset with exceptional multitasking abilities and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.The Perks!
