Emergency Med Tech/ParamedicRequisition IDreq27068Working TitleEmergency Med Tech/ParamedicPosition Grade11Position SummaryUnder general supervision, provides basic to advanced emergency rescue and paramedical care to the ill and injured.Guides and supports EMT Intermediate and/or EMT Basic techs and/or students in the application of appropriate EMS techniques, as required.Performs direct illness/injury assessment and management, preparation for transport, transfer of information, and patient care.Typically works on an on-call basis as per schedule or as otherwise required.See the Position Description for additional information.Conditions of EmploymentMay be required to submit immunization records for review for required vaccines and TB testing.UNM will provide Hepatitis vaccination, candidate may decline vaccination through declination form or may provide record of vaccination from previous employer.Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of experience in the field of pre-hospital EMS.
