Who we are
At City Storage Systems, we're building Infrastructure for Better Food. We help restaurateurs around the world succeed in online food delivery. Our goal is to make food more affordable, higher quality, and convenient for everyone. We're changing the game for restaurateurs, whether they're entrepreneurs opening their first restaurant all the way through to your favorite global quick-service restaurant chains.
What you'll do
We are looking for Frontend Software Engineers to build elegant products on world-class technologies that bring our experience to millions of restaurateurs, anytime and anywhere. As a Frontend Software Engineer at CSS, you will develop innovative new features and experiences on a platform with a large and growing user base. You will build vertically integrated data visualization components to power intuitive and interactive analytic dashboards. You will leverage open-source and proprietary technologies and use languages and tools including TypeScript, React, GraphQL, and more. You will build and operate web apps with world-class availability, performance, and scalability. Your role will encompass a diverse range of responsibilities, including: Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers and Backend Engineers to conceptualize and build new features for our growing customer base. Participate in and provide feedback to the design process to build beautiful UI. Produce high-quality code by leading or contributing to large cross-functional projects that impact and drive business success. Actively own features and define their long-term health, keeping scalability at the forefront of technical designs. Assist our skilled operations and business teams in triaging and resolving production issues. Work with other engineers from various teams across verticals and review code. Build reusable components and libraries for integration across products and scale. Build in a dynamic environment leveraging Data-Driven Development, Agile Methodologies, and Continuous Improvement. What we're looking for
3+ years of industry software engineering experience developing and shipping beautiful applications using language(s) such as JavaScript or TypeScript. Experience working with React or an equivalent modern framework. Familiarity with the full life cycle of shipping web applications, from design and implementation to testing and deployment. Strong communicator who can explain complex topics to not only other engineers but also designers, product managers, and support. Strong frontend fundamentals: integration testing, design patterns, client-side storage, responsiveness, etc. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience. A love for good food. Why join us
Growing market: You'll be focused on an $80 billion market that's projected to reach at least $500 billion by 2030 in the US alone. Changing the restaurant industry: You'll be part of a team that helps restaurants succeed in online food delivery. Collaborative environment: You will receive support and guidance from experienced colleagues and managers, helping you to learn, grow, and achieve your goals, and you'll work closely with other teams to ensure our customer's success.
What else you need to know
This role is based in our Seattle office location. We believe that people do their best work when they are together. As a company, we're in the marketplace of ideas and innovation. When you're constantly innovating, changing how an industry works, inventing new products and processes - and we are doing all these things - we believe we're better as a team in person. That's why all of our teams (except for our field-based roles) are now working from one of our office locations 5 days a week. Looking forward to sharing more about a Career of Substance at CSS!
