POSITION OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the Executive Vice President, Portfolio Solutions, The Underwriting Specialist, General Liability, plays a pivotal role in assessing and managing risk for Ascot's Portfolio Solutions division. The successful candidate will have extensive General Liability & Auto experience. This underwriting division of Ascot US Insurance focuses on establishing relationships with Program Managers, Group Captives, Insurtech's and other aggregators and offers a variety of solutions to these customers including risk assumption, fronting and other related services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:Oversee the filings and Ratings update to ensure policies are correctly loaded in Ascot SystemsOversee General Liability referrals both from Captive / Alternative risk as well as MGA delegated Underwriting referrals from various internal risk staff.Expand portfolio of business by enhancing the General Liability and Automobile Coverage capabilities based on new developments in the market.Help provide superior production and service to brokers and clients by liaising directly with individual Captive consultants and Program Managers to create visibility through consistent efficient engagement with trading partners, particularly on form changes and referrals.Stay current on competition, underwriting environment, and market conditions and ensure that our coverage forms, rating plans and overall offerings remain in line with the market and current regulations.Participate in and help drive the underwriting guideline drafting process in co-ordination with the CUO.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

A minimum of 10 years relevant casualty underwriting experience.Prior experience with Workers' Compensation, (Ideal) General Liability (essential) (and umbrella) and Commercial Auto (ideal).Advanced knowledge of underwriting rating concepts, practices, forms and procedures.In-depth technical knowledge of General Liability and Automobile insurance coverage and pricing across a variety of classes.Strong collaborative skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.Strong organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Excellent Communication skills, in liaising with various internal and external partners.Some experience integrating forms/states requirements in underwriting systems.

Compensation

Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, and skills. The base pay is just one component of Ascot's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus, long-term incentives, and other forms of discretionary compensation awarded by the Company. The annualized base pay range for this role is: $140,000 - $175,000
