YesJob SummaryThe Utah Education and Telehealth Network ( UETN ), a state operated broadband and education technology provider for K20 education, libraries, healthcare, and research throughout Utah is seeking a Senior Information Technology (IT) Project Manager.
This senior position is responsible for the development and end-to-end project management of
UETN
sponsored and/or
UETN
supported technical projects.
The project manager will work directly with project sponsors,
UETN
administration, network engineering, network operations, network security, field operations, information technology asset management ( ITAM ), security, enterprise and systems,
UETN
stakeholders, Utah’ telecommunication service providers, technology vendors, and contractors.
Core projects include the implementation of new fiber optic based broadband services, layer 2/3 network upgrades, fiber optic transport improvements, and the transition of broadband services between providers, to include network backbone and last mile circuits. Projects also include
UETN
stakeholder data center relocations and upgrades,
UETN
Point-of-Prescense (PoP) site improvements, and projects that require the ability to breakdown and map the necessary project components, resources, processes, and schedule in a collaborative environment with project team members. These projects may be from 12 to 18 months in duration.
Other projects may include but not limited to video and voice service upgrades and/or refresh, stakeholder network and infrastructure redesign projects, surveillance, and environmental monitoring. May also manage the network and logistic components to support the live broadcast of local congressional debates originating from Utah’s university and college campuses.
Will work often with senior technical managers, administrators, and technical staff, and will be expected to manage project deliverables, milestones, and deadlines, while managing time and limiting meeting requirements for project team members.
This senior IT Project Manager will have a primary focus on large, complex and time sensitive broadband network and infrastructure projects, data center moves, and network upgrades. Some projects will be 18 to 12 months in duration.
Position will also serve as a

Technical Advocate for a region or service area within Utah to ensure
UETN
is anticipating and supporting the needs of its stakeholders. This role will require attending monthly or quarterly meeting meetings, and documenting and communicating stakeholder priorities as
UETN
establishes priorities, and defines annual broadband requirements and improvements.Position will be required to participate as a team/committee member in large broadband procurement

preparation and reviews.Position will be expected to learn and understand

Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) and at least 7 years of experience in the field or related area.
Project Management Professional ( PMP ) Certification may be required depending on area of assignment.
