The Utah Education and Telehealth Network (UETN), a state-operated broadband and education technology provider for K20 education, libraries, healthcare, and research throughout Utah, is seeking an Associate Director to manage the UETN Project Management Office (PMO). This position is responsible for working with UETN’s leadership team in organizing and managing the PMO to ensure projects align with UETN's mission and add value, follow correct processes, maintain effective standards, and manage a team of five UETN IT project managers.Responsibilities

This position will manage the project management office (PMO) and its staff, overseeing projects including a statewide K12 technology inventory project, wireless projects, and CTO special projects. The manager will work directly with project sponsors, UETN administration, and various technical services to ensure the PMO successfully meets organizational needs and allocates resources effectively.Responsibilities include:Implementing and following IT project management best practices.Evaluating and prioritizing project management requests.Ensuring projects align with project plans, are delivered within budget, and completed on time.Assigning projects and monitoring progress.Assessing and assigning project management training.Providing project reports to UETN leadership.Developing and managing the PMO budget.Evaluating project management tools with the project management team.Collaborating with UETN leadership and department managers on project and resource priorities.Conducting project risk and quality analysis and management.Coaching and mentoring project managers regularly.Promoting transparency and collaboration.Assessing and reviewing project managers' performance.Traveling as needed.Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related computer science area, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) required; plus six years of progressively more responsible management experience; and demonstrated leadership, human relations, and effective communication skills also required.Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.Preferences

Requirements and Qualifications:BA or BS required or equivalency.A Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent Certification.A minimum of seven years project management experience.IT management and IT project management experience.Personnel Management experience.Strong leadership, planning, and team-building skills.Good written and verbal communication skills.Strong attention to detail and technicalities.Excellent organizational and technical skills.Good interpersonal skills (ability to handle challenging and stressful work situations).Problem-solving skills.UETN provides a hybrid work environment, but applicants must be available and willing to work onsite/office as needed.Additional Information
