The foundation of a connected world, it’s a network free of the limitations of the past, and flexible enough to satisfy all the social, economic and transformative needs of the changing world.Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesDISH Wireless is looking for an RF Engineering Manager who will build, develop, and manage the Radio Network team in their local market.  This team is responsible for working with the local development team to optimize and implement initial design using established RF planning standards and guidelines so that the market is built to a competitive standard. This position will play a critical role in planning and building a cloud-native 5G network. Primary responsibilities:Hire, develop and drive a highly skilled technical workforce (team of employees and consultants) who will take the initial design for the market from the National team and optimize the design in light of conditions in the market:Radio network planning, optimizing coverage to achieve an excellent productLocal knowledge, RF propagation, and technical analysis5G network integration and optimizationModel tuningACP runsSite selectionsWork closely with local teams - Site Acquisition, Zoning, Construction, Transport and Program Management – to develop, build and optimize Dish Wireless networkContinually coordinate and consult with National RF Planning team#LI-BF1Skills, Experience and RequirementsThe successful RF Engineering Manager will have:Bachelors in technical/engineering discipline with 5 to 10 years of RF engineering experience and 2+ years of managing employees as well as staff augmentation through contractors/consultantsExcellent written and verbal communication skills with strong relationship building skillsCellular / Mobile Technology proficiency: 3G/4G/5G LTE, NR theory and practical experienceSolid knowledge of network design fundamentals and techniquesExperience with drive test equipment, processes, and interpretation of resultsStrong RF and antenna theory knowledge Ability to work with propagation tools, build network plans, and interpret resultsBroad comprehension of all technical roles they manageKnowledge of other functional disciplines in market, including Site Development and Field OperationsRF specific knowledge and skills desired include: Planet, X-Cal, Tems, Nemo, Atoll, Windcatcher, RFDS, RF Antenna Theory, Cellular / Mobile Technology proficiency: 3G/4G/5G LTE, NR theory and practical experience, good grasp of of 3GPP and ORAN standardsKnowledge of core network functions (DU, CU, RU, EMS, PaaS, IP Networks) and with the ability to evaluate/identify and resolve moderate issuesAbility to prioritize tasks and deliverables and comprehension of downstream impact of decisions and tradeoffsProficient in skills of good judgment, listening, decision making and project consulting. Takes a proactive approach to risks and issues before they cause a negative impact to the build cycle timelineAbility to communicate, orally and written, with all levels (internal/external). Can structure communication of complex topics so that others can easily comprehend.
