The
Technical Project Manager
role will work closely with IT leaders, business leads, technical teams, vendor partners, and peers to manage, plan, document, and implement the IT-related activities aligned with business projects and initiatives. The
Technical Project Manager
will also facilitate collaborative project teamwork, proactive communications, and accountability throughout the project life cycle.ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Plan and manage project strategies, tasks, project team staffing, and resourcesLead in the formulation of project objectives and define project scopePlan and schedule project deliverables, goals, and milestonesEnsure cohesiveness of quality across projects by developing consistent processes for project teamsEstablish & Support best practices for deliverable tracking, risk assessment & mitigation, communication, and key performance metricsEstablish project governance & oversight, help drive accountability to achieve project milestones outcomesIdentify risks, offer mitigation strategies, and manage “scope creep” to deliver projects on time and within budgetUnderstand stakeholder needs and expectations using proactive communications
regarding project statusEscalate issues as appropriate. Help ensure tradeoffs and priorities are well-understood by key stakeholdersConduct project post-mortems to identify successful & unsuccessful project elements, and opportunities for improvementManage stakeholder needs and expectations using proactive communications
regarding project statusEscalate issues as appropriate. Help ensure tradeoffs and priorities are well-understood by key stakeholdersLead within a project team to help influence outcomes, provide leadership without formal authorityResponsible for developing and maintaining technical documentationFulfill multiple roles as needed within a team or projectProvide guidance to other members of the IT DepartmentAll other job duties as assignedPHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
Collaborative team environment in a shared workspaceTeam-focused success, emphasizing cross-functional, self-organizationGeneral office, computer room, warehouse, and factory areasInfrequent off-hours work and travel as requiredSitting for long periodsMinimum lifting requirements of 15 poundsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree
in a business, management, or technology field or relevant work experience3+ years of project management or business management3+ years
of experience in coordinating and/or supporting business processesOne or more Project Management certifications - (I.e. PMP, CAPM, PMI-ACP) are preferredFamiliarity with multiple project management methodologies and frameworksExcellent interpersonal communication skills
