About the Hospital and Department:

Non-profit 500+ bed trauma center and teaching hospital

Serves as the flagship hospital for a regional non-profit healthcare system

Certified Primary Stroke Center

Position will manage the day to day operations of the Surgical Services Department that performs over 13,000 annual procedures including 20+ Main OR's, Ambulatory Surgery and Endoscopy

Specialties include: Orthopedic, Trauma, Cardiothoracic, Vascular, ENT, Colorectal, Neuro, Plastics, Uro, General, GYN, Outpatient and Interventional Services

Well supported by a team of 140+ FTE's including five (5) Assistant Nurse Managers, Team Leaders and Charge RN's

About the Nurse Manager, Surgical Services Position:This is a highly autonomous role that will focus on the daily operations of the department. You will also provide mentoring to your staff, ensure collaborative and positive physician relationships, create and implement process improvements, and ensure compliance with regulatory agencies. Our ideal candidate will possess the heart of a servant leader and should be able to build and maintain positive relationships across all levels.

Qualifications & Requirements for Nurse Manager, Surgical Services:

BSN required / Master's preferred

RN active license required

CNOR strongly preferred

Minimum two (2) years of progressive surgical services leadership experience at Supervisor/Manager level or above in an inpatient surgical services setting

Minimum five (5) years of operating room nursing experience (hospital based)

INSPIRATIONAL and COLLABORATIVE leadership style

Strong focus on quality, patient safety, staff and collaborating across all levels to ensure and obtain the best patient outcomes
