Position Summary
The role of Vice President, Supply Chain & Global Sourcing is instrumental in shaping and overseeing all aspects of the supply chain functions. As the primary driver of supply chain and sourcing activities within the organization, this role presents a unique opportunity to influence and implement the company's strategic vision. The incumbent will be responsible for establishing robust product supply chain channels to ensure the timely fulfillment of customer demands. Additionally, they will support the Executive Sales and Operations Planning (ES&OP) process, align sales forecasts, manage vendor purchase orders, proactively address supply chain risks, and enhance financial performance through favorable pricing negotiations.
Essential Duties
Optimize and Maintain Supply Chain: Lead efforts to optimize and maintain a resilient supply chain for a dynamic multi-product hard surface flooring supplier. This includes support for existing product lines as well as the introduction of new products.
Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP): Develop, execute, and oversee S&OP activities across the organization. This involves establishing, refining, and executing sales and operations processes, engaging closely with new product innovation, logistics, and distribution/warehousing.
Strategic Alignment: Align supply chain strategies with sales forecasts, providing real-time visibility into forecast demand and inventory metrics. Monitor inventory levels at distribution centers, including third-party logistics providers (3PLs).
Risk Mitigation: Actively identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including potential disruptions due to geopolitical, economic, and logistical factors.
Production Optimization: Develop strategies to optimize production capacity and maintain consistent product delivery schedules. Implement a global supplier tier sourcing strategy and supplier scorecard.
Process Enhancement: Continuously evaluate and enhance supply chain processes to improve efficiency, reduce lead times, and lower overall supplier costs.
Team Leadership: Lead the operations planning and supply chain team, offering day-to-day support, coaching, and development to align with the company's business objectives.
International Travel: Be prepared to travel internationally, particularly to supplier sites in the Asia-Pacific region, as needed.
Other Duties: Undertake any other duties as assigned and required by the role.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field. An MBA or master's degree is a plus, but significant experience or career achievements in a related field will be considered.
Industry Experience: Demonstrated experience in the flooring or building materials industry is essential. Relevant exposure in supply chain, global sourcing, operations, product commercialization, project management, and business development is required.
Leadership: A minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership capacity in a similar role is necessary.
Software Proficiency: Familiarity with ERP and demand planning software is required, as is knowledge of standard cost systems for distribution.
Vendor Management: Proven experience in vendor management, contract negotiation, and purchase order processes is essential.
Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are necessary.
Organizational Skills: Excellent organization and time management skills are crucial in this role.
Goal-Oriented: A goal-driven mindset, with the ability to work under pressure while managing competing priorities, is expected.
Project Management: Demonstrated project management skills are a significant asset.
