Bosch Thermotechnology produces systems like Geothermal water source heat pump systems, Variable refrigerant flow air conditioning, hydronic boiler and water heating, connected thermostats and combined heating a power generation systems.Bosch Watertown, MA is a small research and development site with approximately 40 staff and an in-house testing and prototype shop working on advanced development projects for multiple product groups within the Bosch Thermotechnology (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) communities. The Bosch Watertown site is unique in that it provides a small consulting group / R&D feel with the endless resources of a large corporation available to support the development of solutions for tough engineering problems.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and entrepreneurial Applications Engineer to oversee our current and future sales and training solutions, specific to software/configuration tools. This individual will play a key role in scaling our company's digital transformation by developing a vision and strategy to achieve our goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of digital tools, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for driving business growth. In addition, this candidate will be responsible for actively driving and managing lead generation activities, working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate for our HVAC systems.Key Responsibilities:Develop a concrete vision and strategy for scaling our digital tools to support business growth.Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements for new digital solutions and evaluate existing ones.Lead and inspire a cross-functional team to achieve goals and drive innovation.Manage and maintain the existing LMS tool ensuring seamless functionality and user experience.Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to create engaging and informative training content for HVAC equipment.Assist in obtaining CEU and NATE training certifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and requirements.Oversee and manage the current Product CPQ tool, ensuring smooth operation and user experience for business partners to create projects, generate quotations, and submit orders.Identify opportunities for improvement and expansion of our digital solutions ecosystem.Stay current with industry trends and best practices in digital sales, marketing, and training solutions.Conduct customer visits and provide technical training to the users of our digital solutions.Interpreting customer requirements - speaking with clients to understand, anticipate and meet their needs.Identify gaps and incompatibilities between requirements and proposed solutions while also developing recommendations.Collaborate on solutions architecture, code reviews, technology, and standards, and mentor other team members.Develop engineering sales tools, e.g. HVAC control selection tool, sizing tools, spec. sheets, etc., to enable sales teams to sell HC products most effectively and simplify product selection and installation.Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.Travel Expectation: Some domestic and international travel may be required. (up to 15%)

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:Bachelor of Science degree2+ years of experience in leading complex cross-functional projects2+ years of experience in developing and executing strategies for digital/software tools1+ years of experience in the product manufacturing industryPreferred Qualifications:Master’s Degree in Business or EngineeringBachelor's degree in Mechanical, Computer Engineering or Computer ScienceHVAC industry experience3+ years of experience in technical content development, preferably in a software or technology-related industry.5+ years of experience in high-tech environments delivering customer-driven solutions.UX design experienceStrong strategic thinking and visioning abilitiesSelf-starter with the ability to prioritize and plan complex work for self and a small team in a rapidly changing environmentStrong communication and leadership skills to effectively mentor and lead junior-level personnel
