We are committed to creating an environment that empowers people to do their best work.We currently have an opening for a Financial Management Consultant to apply critical thinking skills, knowledge, and experience with Federal budget and accounting to support the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of budget and financial management policies, procedures, and deliverables to support client missions. Work experience in Federal budget and/or financial management or coursework a plus!Primary Duties:Supports financial management process development, integration, and improvement, such as mapping budgetary workflows and transactions including apportionments, allotments, and warrantsConducts research and reconciliations, using a variety of historical federal accounting and other financial reportsDevelops and maintains Microsoft 365 (Excel, Power BI, etc.) based automated tools to assist in tracking and forecasting project and budget informationDevelops, researches, and improves business processes for federal loan and grant programsDocuments the technical details of your work clearly to facilitate collaboration with other team members and ensure quality controlUtilizes data analytics and visualization to evaluate financial data, processes, and recommend solutions compliant with relevant laws, regulations, and policies, including relevant Department of the Treasury and Office of Management and Budget financial management and budget guidanceDemonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills to work effectively across various stakeholders in presentations, white papers, analysis, standard operating procedures, job aids, and other materialMinimum Technical Requirements:Bachelor's degree in public policy, public administration, accounting, finance, economics, or a related field; master's degree preferredMinimum of 5 years of relevant financial management/budget experienceHighly proficient in using Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.) and SharePoint to document, analyze, and present budget and financial information and processes and create presentations for training and executive briefings on a wide range of topics, such as policies, procedures, tools, analyses, and internal controlsPreferred Skills:Knowledge of federal budget and financial concepts including appropriations, apportionments, allotments, and funds controlExperience with Oracle Analytics (IDW Platform) a plusTo avoid applications being overlooked, please refrain from emailing resumes and instead, submit resumes directly on the Summit website at summitllc.us/careersWe offer a collaborative and rewarding work environment where we value your input, experience, and professional development.
