Summit Consulting, LLC is seeking an experienced Budget Analyst who is interested in applying their budget, accounting, and analytical skills in a fast-paced, collegial environment.The successful candidate will work on an energetic team and interface directly with Federal clients.Duties include the following tasks:

Executing budgetary transactions including apportionments, allotments, and warrants to maintain funding continuity on crucial federal programsResearching the budgetary and other impacts of new federal laws and appropriations on existing programsConducting research and reconciliations, using a variety of historical federal accounting and other financial reportsDeveloping and maintaining Excel-based automated tools to assist in tracking and projecting budgetary informationDeveloping, researching, and improving processes for federal loan and grant programs.Documenting the technical details of your work clearly to facilitate collaboration with other team members and ensure quality control.Requirements for this position include:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or public policy, with preference for candidates with demonstrated interest in financial management, budget, accounting and/or the functioning of federal government agencies1+ years of related work experience supporting Federal budget offices with budget formulation and/or executionA strong knowledge of budget and accounting concepts and OMB Circular A-11Attention to detail in a data-intensive environmentProficiency using Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.Ability to articulate ideas verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner to audiences of varied levelsAbility to work closely with others in a team environmentMust be a U.S. citizen (our work with Federal clients limits our hiring to U.S. citizens only)Preferences for this position include:

Experience with Federal budgeting for Federal lending programs
