If you are looking for your next career opportunity to partner with a compassionate multidisciplinary collaborative team, we have the job for you!Job Summary:We are a small children’s acute care hospital focused on treating complex medical conditions, chronic illnesses, developmental disabilities, and abuse and trauma.The X-Ray Technologist will perform general and portable radiography, E.K.G’s, and duties related to the orderly function of the Department of Radiology.Essential Radiology Tech Functions:Operate the department in an efficient and effective manner under approved hospital and departmental guidelines
Perform portable x-rays
Perform EKGs during normal department working hours
Produce and process radiographs – position and transfer patients, provide immobilizations devices as required, and select proper technical factors on an individual patient basis
Maintain adequate records
Complete log book and verify requisitions and orders coordinate
Prepares and sends EKGs to the University of Chicago Department of Pediatric Cardiology for interpretationMaintain effective client (physician and patient) and interdepartmental relationsWhat we need from you:Completion of a formal radiology technology training program at an American Medical Association-approved school (will accept new grads).
At least one (1) year of experience in clinical radiology and experience with Computerized Radiography or Digital Radiography.
A current Illinois Radiology Technologist License is required. Accreditation by the Illinois Emergency Management Agency is required and this accreditation must be renewed every two years. An American Registry of Radiologic Technology certificate is required. Annual renewal of this certificate is required.
Only certifications issued by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross will be accepted.
