Role Summary

The G/L Accountant is responsible for the general ledger accounting for several entities. This position is responsible for the preparation, processing, audit and reporting of monthly and quarterly accruals in the accounting system. This position is also responsible for general ledger entries relating to PIMCO Global Offices. Main responsibilities include accounting for complex and industry-specialized transactions.

Key ResponsibilitiesGenerate monthly and quarterly revenue accruals from our Billing System and load data to the general ledgerInvestigate general ledger discrepancies and correct as appropriateAnalysis of client data and reports as requested by Management and AuditorsPrepare monthly journal entries including foreign currency and transfer pricing (Revenue Sharing amongst Foreign business units)Perform research and analysis of accounting dataAnalyze monthly financial statementsPrepare account reconciliations to detail records or sub-ledgersInvolvement with special projects or testing of system enhancementsProvide and prepare requested document support to internal and external auditorsAssist team members as well as offshore internal/external accountants as neededSpecial projects, ad-hoc reporting and analysis, and other duties as assignedQualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related disciplineMinimum of three years of corporate accounting experienceAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel skills and using Pivot tables, VLOOKUP and higher level functionsPrior experience with large ERP (financial system) such as SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft; experience with SAP is preferredStrong understanding and experience using Accounting Principles knowledgePrior work experience with intercompany and/or multicurrency transactions is preferredStrong analytical and critical thinking skills, including the ability to effectively and autonomously problem solveExhibit attention to detail and proactively seek clarification or assistance when unable to resolve issues independently within a reasonable timeframeEffective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage professionally and succinctly with all levels across the firmStrong commitment to providing quality work and ensure work is delivered completely, accurately and timelyAble to respond effectively to inquiries from various levels of management and maintain good working relationships with internal and external contactsStrong sense of urgency and able to organize and prioritize; including handling multiple tasks with strict deadlinesAbility to collaborate and contribute in a team environment as well as independently to accomplish business objectivesCommitted to PIMCOs values: Collaboration, Openness, Responsibility and Excellence that allow us to bring the best to our clients and each otherProfessional Skills Requirements

Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus is used to award performance and therefore is determined by company, business, team, and individual performance.

Salary Range: $ 71,000.00 - $ 85,000.00
