Our Craftsmen team includes one subsidiary, Schantz Manufacturing. Schantz focuses on custom manufacturing of concession trailers for the fair and festival industry.

Position Title:
Project Engineer
Location:
St. Charles, MO
Position Summary:
The
Project Engineer
is expected to take projects from conceptual to fabrication drawings, plan project tasks and self-prioritize to meet tight deadlines.
Primary Responsibilities:
Interface with sales and estimating to understand the project scope.
Interface with client to understand project expectations.
Track scope changes
Track project performance to budget and schedule
Communicate with shop floor daily for design concerns and work schedule.
Source and quote products for the project. Interface with the purchasing department to provide materials per the project schedule.
Review designs for safety and liability consideration. Communicate concerns to sales and production management in a prompt manner.
Projects may include steel structures, aluminum structures, hydraulics, visual elements, electrical and controls, mobile structures, etc. The engineer must be willing to learn multiple disciplines.
Required Skills:
BS in Mechanical Engineering and 3-8 years of experience
3D solid modeling, basic Autocad
Understands basic concepts and procedures in one of the engineering disciplines.
General machine design skills
Preferred Skills:
Solidworks
Skills in electric/electric control systems, hydraulics, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), PLC Programming, cabinet building, plumbing, HVAC and lighting.
