Job Summary
Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, drive a school bus over a prescribed route, picking up and discharging students according to established schedules and time lines; assure proper functioning of the school bus and the health and safety of passengers; transport students to and from school, field trips and athletic events; inspect, diagnose, maintain, overhaul and repair a variety of gas and diesel powered automotive and maintenance equipment, including school buses, trucks and automobiles; inspect school buses for safety and adherence to district maintenance and repair requirements; perform related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:1. Valid Class B with passenger endorsement and school bus driver certificate2. Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school including or supplemented by specialized training in the repair and maintenance of gas and diesel-powered equipment and one year of journey-level experience in the repair and maintenance of gas and diesel-powered vehicles and equipment.3. Two years of safe driving experience
