POSITION SUMMARY:

Duquesne University College of OsteopathicMedicine's Student Affairs Coordinator will play a crucial role in supportingand enhancing the overall student experience. This position involvescoordinating various student-related programs, services, and events, as well ascollaborating with other departments to ensure a positive and inclusive campusenvironment. The Student Affairs Coordinator will work closely with DUQCOM'sDean and Associate Deans, the Director of Student Affairs, students, faculty,and staff to address student needs, promote engagement, and contribute to thedevelopment of a vibrant DUQCOM community. The position reports to the Director of Student Affairs.

DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist with planning, organizing, andproviding insight for the logistics of official events including new DUQCOM andMBS student orientations, the White Coat ceremony, and DUQCOM and MBSgraduations as well as open houses, accepted student days, and other events;this will require working collaboratively with members of various DuquesneUniversity departments in preparation for these events.

Assist with advising studentorganization leaders on creating new student organizations, organizing andimplementing club activities, coordinating event management, and othermentoring and advising for students as needed.

Under the leadership of the Director ofStudent Affairs, collaborate with faculty, academic advisors, and staff toidentify student need and provide services, resources, and support to allowthem to be successful. Assist withpromoting diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives in DUQCOM and on campus, andensuring that all students feel welcome, valued and represented. Support thedevelopment and organization of programs that will be implemented at the DUQCOMwhich celebrate and recognize cultural diversity and foster a sense ofbelonging for all members of the DUQCOM community.

Assist Director of Student Affairs as anintake officer for student complaints, gather information from appropriateresources, investigates issues, make recommendations and suggest action to takeacross various levels of the DUQCOM to resolve a variety of problems, issues,and complaints.

Assist the Admissions and Student Affairsdepartments in the logistics and communications to students throughout theapplication, interview, and matriculation processes as well as with recruitmentand retention activities, some of which may necessitate travel through theregion.

Along with the Director of StudentAffairs, represent DUQCOM's Student Affairs department at designated meetingssuch as admissions meetings, on-campus meetings, and program events asappropriate.

Completes otherduties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor'sdegree from an accredited institution is required, preferably in a life scienceor STEM-related field.

Willingnessand ability to utilize new technologies relevant to the position

Knowledge of,or the ability to learn internal University systems

Experienceand training in a higher education environment, with knowledge, skills, andabilities required to perform the essential job functions. This includes but isnot limited to demonstrated proficiency with current Microsoft Office Suite:Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Publisher as well as Outlook e-mail

Must bemobile and have the ability to lift up to 25 pounds

Must have avalid PA driver's license and be able to travel

Preferred qualifications:

Priorexperience working in the healthcare field, medical education field, or otherstudent-facing positions is preferred
