Richmond State Hospital is a public behavioral health facility operated by the state of Indiana and one of six state psychiatric hospitals within the Family and Social Services Administration Division of Mental Health and Addiction. The hospital clinical and medical leadership collaborate with the unit treatment teams to provide the most contemporary and comprehensive care possible****About the Job:****The Truck Driver is responsible for the operation of transportation and warehouse equipment.****A Day in the Life:****The essential functions of this role are as follows:* Instructs inmates on techniques of loading and unloading cargo.* Instructs inmates on checking trucks for safety features and making minor repairs and tire repairs.* Drives trucks to various locations in the state to deliver goods.* Maintains mileage trip tickets for vehicles.* Maintains continual knowledge of the whereabouts of inmates assigned to this position during trips away from the institution.* Checks and maintains truck to meet vehicle law requirements.The job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee.
