Richmond State Hospital is about the people we serve and the community relationships we have developed dating back to 1890. Richmond State Hospital is a public behavioral health facility operated by the state of Indiana and one of six state psychiatric hospitals within the Family and Social Services Administration Division of Mental Health and Addiction. As part of a newly integrated system of state psychiatric hospitals, we serve consumers across the state as the Eastern Center of Excellence in Mental Health and Addiction Services.Nestled in northwestern Richmond, our beautiful campus provides a quiet and peaceful environment. The salary for this position traditionally starts at $71,500.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.A Day in the Life:

The essential functions of this role are as follows:Serve as a primary clinical leader to assist the Superintendent and Medical Director in ensuring exceptional patient care.Manage, oversee, and maintain clinical operations at the facility.Provide clinical supervision, as necessary, while maintaining the integrity of individual scope of practice based on clinical license.Provide training, guidance, and supervision to Clinical Department Heads, staff providing clinical services, and other subordinates as assigned.Develop and implement policies and procedures pertaining to patient care, programming, and treatment in accordance with available data, the Joint Commission standards, and CMS standards.Provide guidance, oversight, and consultation pertaining to data-driven initiatives, evidence-based practice, active treatment concepts, and services that support this agency and DMHA's mission and vision.Provide administrative leadership to ensure consistent oversight, consultation/decision-making, and reporting requirements are met.Collaborate with HR to ensure the clinical needs of the organization are met/maintained.Development and implementation of standardized discipline assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes to meet Indiana's unique needs and accrediting body standards/reporting requirements.Maintain license and progressive fund of knowledge to promote evidence-based care/treatment, accreditation compliance, and quality services within the organization.Serve on hospital committees and workgroups as assigned or appointed.Direct and facilitate multi-disciplinary, inter/intra-agency performance improvement teams and initiatives.Ensure statistical data is outcome-driven, analyzed, and effectively communicated to enable quality clinical programming and administrative decision-making.The job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee. The ideal candidate should minimally have either:Doctorate (Ph.D., Psy.D) plus HSPP preferred Four years full-time professional experience and/or direct patient care.Master’s Degree in one of the core mental health disciplines (Psychology, Rehabilitation Therapy, or Social Work) with clinical license and 7+ years of experience.Related certifications and coursework may be considered for education or experience.Extensive knowledge of patient care treatment modalities and contemporary/evidenced-based programmatic strategies for individuals with SMI, ID/DD, Co-Occurring with Substance Use, and SED disorders.Knowledge of performance improvement methodologies, tools, and statistical analysis.Ability to formulate data-driven recommendations and make appropriate decisions.Advanced knowledge of computer and software programs.Proficiency in team building and group facilitation skills.Ability to work with all levels of professional, technical, and administrative hospital staff.Advanced ability to exercise sound judgment while managing crisis situations.Ability to conduct in-service training for professional and support staff.Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively.Demonstrate ability to develop, redesign, implement, evaluate, monitor, and write/revise policies, procedures, and work processes.Ability to manage assigned resources and budget.Advanced organizational and time management skills.Advanced ability to proactively identify needed agency process changes.Advanced ability to self-initiate and work independently.Ability to analyze organizational management and human resource issues.Effective managerial and strong supervisory skills.Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:
