Job Description
Purpose of Position:
To operate electroencephalograph equipment to measure impulse frequency and differences in electrical potential between areas of the brain and/or to obtain data for use on diagnosing brain disorders
Responsibilities:
Verifies orders through HIS and sets-up priorities of patients requiring electrocepha-lographic tests, (EEG tests)Prepares and positions patients for EEGs testsAttached electrodes to the patient's headMaintains s patient records, both paper and computerized trough electronic storageIdentifies tracings, prepares records and enters results into HDS.Minimum Qualifications1. Graduation from a Senior High School or possession of a High School Equivalency Diploma, and one year of experience as an Electroencephalograph Technician in an approved hospital or in the office of a recognized Psychiatrist, Neurologist or Neurosurgeon; or,2. A satisfactory equivalent.
