Job Description
KL is seeking a full-time, entry-level professional who is interested in developing their skills as a PR generalist focused on B2B and B2B2C media relations, social media management (including influencer work) and content development. They will be an integral part of KL's collaborative team of PR professionals, working with notable, growing companies whose business goals include brand awareness, reaching new audiences and markets, driving sales, gaining investment and more.
Our ideal candidate is a resourceful researcher and strong writer with some experience drafting press releases, pitches, executive or brand social media posts, blogs, or bylines; highly organized and proven to excel at day-to-day communication and project management; able to prioritize workflow; and able to build and maintain media lists. Knowledge of social media platforms, such as LinkedIn and X, is important, as this role will lead content creation and community management for clients' channels.
The candidate will also have an interest in following national, regional and local news, as well as in learning how to link clients to news' trends. They will pride themselves on understanding the media landscape, remain committed to pitching stories they've helped build, and successfully navigate traditional and social media analytics to deliver recap and result reports. We expect this person to hold a strong work ethic, which means they will be self-motivated, inquisitive and proactive, flexible, detail-oriented, committed to professional development and feedback, and open to problem solving and new challenges. An entrepreneurial spirit is encouraged and fostered.
QualificationsBachelor's degree in journalism, communications, PR or marketing, or a liberal arts major heavily focused on research, writing and team projectsSix months to one year of PR agency or corporate marketing (PR preferred) experience as a full-time intern, PR Coordinator, AAE or similar roleDemonstrable knowledge of digital and social media, particularly LinkedInExceptional written and verbal communications skills, as evidenced through their resume, writing samples and KL writing test
