Kitchell seeks an experienced and dedicated Project Manager II to join our California - Central Coast region in Santa Barbara and build a long-term career at one of the most innovative and growth-oriented building companies in the United States.

Overview

Perform PM/CM Services for one of our regional Public Sector clients in the markets of either k-12, municipal, or rail.

Duties And Responsibilities

Act as a Construction Manager with direct client facing responsibilitiesWork directly with multiple city departments to provide them with internal resources as support for their need for PM/CM servicesStrong knowledge of contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications to ensure relation and compliance to project requirementsConduct project meetings and provide documentation, administration, and tracking of relevant informationMaintains and ensures client satisfaction and effectively resolves complaints when necessary in order to secure repeat businessImplements and maintains effective systems of communication within and outside the program to ensure constructive relationships and the adequate flow of informationEnsure contractor, architect, engineer, will adhere to contractual requirements on areas of safety, performance, project staff, and equipmentProvide management of project logistics, organization, safety, and manpower utilizationMonitors project planning and design status to report findings, recommendations, and updatesMay coordinate, direct, and monitor activities of construction management staff, contractors, engineers, architects, and related performing entitiesPerforms other duties as assigned

Requirements

Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field is preferred10 or more years of experience as a Project Manager in construction is required with 5 of those years as a PMPrior experience working on large Civic, Municipal, transportation, or education market sector construction projects is requiredExperience with Design-build delivery method is strongly desired and will be seen as more competitive

Knowledge And Skills

Knowledge and application of master planning, A/E solicitation, project development, design-phase management, construction estimating, cost, project controls/scheduling, documentation, engineering/construction principles, contracts and delivery methods are requiredStrong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of products is requiredUser skills with P6 and Procore are preferredEffective verbal and written communication skills, including the advanced ability to foster and maintain effective interpersonal relationships is required

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly work in an office and or construction environment. Conditions regularly include exposure to outdoor elements, hot/cold temperatures, wet atmospheric conditions, and cramped quarters with occasionally loud noise level in the work. Independent travel throughout the county and state may be required.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly sit, stand, walk, talk or hear and use hands to finger, feel and handle; frequently reach with hands and arms; occasionally climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must frequently lift and or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds.

Travel Requirements

This position is performed on location and is site based or embedded within the client office in the greater Santa Barbara, CA area.

The annual base salary range for this role is currently $120,000 - $150,000. The Company’s salary ranges are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of various factors, including job-related skills, relevant education and experience, abilities of the applicant and equity with other team members.
