Position Overview:
They are seeking a talented and motivated Senior Financial Analyst to join their team in Miami. Reporting to the Director of Analytics, the Senior Financial Analyst will play a crucial role in providing financial insights, analysis, and support to drive strategic decision-making within the $200M+ revenue firm. This is an in-office role based at their Miami HQ office, offering an opportunity for professional growth and development in a collaborative and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, to support firm-wide financial objectives.
Conduct competitor analyses, evaluating key performance metrics such as Revenue Per Lawyer (RPL), Profits Per Partner (PPP), lawyer productivity, and other relevant financial ratios such as utilization rate, liquidity ratios, client relationship ratios, overhead ratios, etc.
Prepare and present financial reports to management, including partner profitability reports, practice group reports, and other ad-hoc analyses, to support decision-making at various levels of the organization.
Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives to optimize operational efficiency and maximize profitability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data, analyze financial performance, and develop actionable recommendations for improvement.
Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to streamline financial reporting and analysis processes.
Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes relevant to financial operations in the legal sector.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
3+ years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or related roles within the legal industry.
Strong proficiency in financial modeling, analysis, and reporting, with advanced Excel skills.
Familiarity with legal practice management systems such as Aderant or Elite 3E.
Familiarity with business intelligence and OLAP tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, Cognos, Essbase, etc.
Experience conducting competitor analyses and familiarity with key financial metrics specific to law firms.
Proven ability to prepare and present financial reports and analysis to stakeholders at all levels.
Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
Strategic mindset with a focus on driving continuous improvement and delivering results.
