Performs underwriting analysis and risk assessment for new and renewal of large group contracts and accountings at a proficiency level. Reviews assigned cases within the department's book of business including multiple product types, funding arrangements and rating methodologies. Supports Managers and Directors in managing the day-to-day underwriting team tasks, goals, and responsibilities.

What you will doExecutes both routine and non-routine business support tasks for the Senior Underwriting Associate area under limited supervision, referring deviations from standard practices to managers.Follows area protocols, standards, and policies to provide effective and timely support.Prepares and delivers routine new business quotes, as well as existing patient business renewals coupled with proprietary accounting records.Coordinates the detailed reviews of patient records, collaborating with mentors and managers to effectively respond to requests for pricing and accounting balance alternatives, based on financial analysis, underwriting principals and business strategy.Assists sales personnel in explaining medical line-item rates and fees, and collective accounting balances, as well as progressing the development and communication of underwriting policy.Takes direction to execute techniques, processes, and responsibilities.

Required Qualifications1+ years work experience in a professional setting (internships are applicable)Working knowledge of problem solving and decision making skills

Preferred QualificationsHealth insurance industry experience/knowledge.EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent required.Bachelor's degree preferred.Pay RangeThe typical pay range for this role is:$18.50 - $37.02 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
