Position Summary
Wintrust is looking for a highly self-motivated, creative, and enthusiastic professional to join the Wintrust Internal Audit Data Analytics team. This position is a member of the data analytics team reports to data science manager. The position will work closely with audit team members, internal audit clients, risk management and compliance functions within the organization, as well as external parties where applicable. The role is based in Rosemont, IL with minimal business travel.
What You'll Do
Develop and execute the best data analytical practices in supporting data driven annual audit planning
Lead the design and implementation of data analytics tests in supporting audit projects, including apply various machine learning techniques in Python to identify the business issues and root causes
Collaborate with key stakeholders across internal audit to identify business requirements for reporting, dashboards and visualizations; Build and automate the reporting
Support the development of new analytical products, and the enhancement of current processes and services
Build and maintain the data analytics library
Provide the data analytics trainings and coaching for internal auditors
Develop and maintain a positive and respectful working relationships with audit team members
Qualifications
Minimum of a bachelor's degree in statistics, math and economics, Master's degree is preferred
Minimum five years of data analysis and 3 years of statistical modeling experience, preferably in the financial industry / risk management
Strong knowledge of statistical analysis software / data analysis experience including data manipulation, various machine learning techniques with SQL and Python
Expertise with data visualization tools (Power BI) and techniques
Experience leading complex analytical projects from project design to insights delivery
Strong logic, problem solving and communication skills
Actively pursue continuous learning of new techniques/tools/algorithms in data science
