DEA's Risk and Project Controls group is seeking to recruit a
Project Scheduling Manager
to support the firmwide development of the Program Management service nationwide. This position is in our
New York City office . Current assignments include, but not limited to, providing support to the oversight for the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) funded projects including East Side Access, Hudson Tunnel, and Portal North Bridge Projects in the New York area. Additional assignments include the support of DEA's projects nationwide, and the development of DEA's firmwide Project Controls practice.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, monitor, and update integrated project plans and schedules so that projects can be assessed in the most efficient manner possible.Assess baseline schedules and schedule basis documents.Assess impacts to the critical path and near-critical path activities and report to the project team.Monitor schedule deviations and variances and assist in developing alternate methods and for corrective action and/or workarounds.Review and critique monthly schedule updates by verifying the updates versus the work accomplished.Analyze look-ahead schedules for potential issues or delays.Recommend work around plans, such as workforce acceleration, extended work week or multiple shifts to keep the project on schedule.Prepare and provide schedule progress reports, trending charts and schedule analysis on a periodic basis.Maintain record of scope changes, trends and variances that potentially affect schedule performance.Assure credibility of the information contained in the schedule.Review schedules with project team members on a regular basis to ensure that accurate and timely data is incorporated in the schedule.Verify schedule integrity and evaluate logic and float paths.Evaluate activity sequences for constructability.Make recommendations to manage float and (re)sequence activities (if required) to achieve project milestone dates and interim target completion dates.Analyze change orders for schedule impacts.Resource and cost load schedules as required by the project team.Perform job-site walks to verify physical progress of scheduled activities.Facilitate project scheduling meetings and/or interactive planning meetings as required by the project team.At the completion of the project, develop and record the project's historical schedule information and lessons learned, for future use.Support Risk Assessment

Skills, Abilities and Attributes:
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.Excellent technical review and writing abilities.Self-motivated, customer driven with results-oriented approach.Preference to accomplish assignments by working in peer groups.Experience with Project schedule software i.e., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project,Experience with Project Risk Software is a plus @ Risk suite, PertmasterExperience with 4D modelingBasic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Architecture, or field related to engineering or architecture.Minimum of 7 years of scheduling experience in the development and maintenance of Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules on large capital projects, with at least 3 of the 7 years as a Scheduling Manager in passenger rail or related transportation projects.Certification as an Earned Value Professional (EVP) Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP) or PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP) is preferred but not required.Resume must document proficiency in a project scheduling software such as Microsoft Project, Primavera etc.Preferred Qualifications:
3 years as a scheduling manager on passenger rail or related modes of transportation projectsExperience with FTA oversight a plusBenefits:
