An active clearance is preferred but not required.This position allows approximately 80-90% telework, subject to client requirements. The candidate must be on-site at our Dahlgren, VA facility approximately 10-20 percent of the time for classified meetings and software development; as a result, candidates must be in commuting distance of Dahlgren.
Responsibilities
Design and develop quality software based on requirementsDevelop and maintain automated unit tests and manual functionality testsPrepare reports on all aspects related to software developmentPeer review the work of other software engineers and provide constructive feedbackParticipate in project meetings including Agile/Scrum grooming, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and daily stand-upsCollaborate within an agile software development process with software engineers, subject matter experts, and stakeholdersMentor Software Engineers to allow for skill/knowledge development through advice, coaching, and training opportunities.
Qualifications
Education / Certifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related STEM fieldClearance Requirement:
must be able to be granted a Secret DOD security clearanceExperience:5+ years of experience successfully designing, developing, and implementing software componentsExperience with a source control tool such as gitExperience with a software lifecycle management tool such as Azure DevOpsExperience writing unit tests and performing code reviewsAbility to provide in-depth evaluation and analysis of unique complex technological issuesSkills & Technology Used: Experience in ANY (not all, any) of the following is desired:Agile/Scrum software development practicesAzure DevOpsPostgreSQL or SQL and Database OperationsLinux (CentOS, RHEL) and Windows Operating SystemsObject-oriented languages and web development technologiesC#, JavaScript/TypeScript, Angular, Material Design, SQL (especially PostGreSQL), Entity Framework, SignalR/WebsocketsDocker and containerized web servicesVisual StudioADDITIONAL INFORMATION (applicable for Full-time position only)
