Learn more at .About the roleWe are looking for a software engineering lead or manager with expertise in mapping and localization for autonomous vehicles or mobile robots. Your will lead our mapping, localization, and calibration team in building a system for an off-road vehicle for autonomous and advanced driver-assistance use cases. You will also help our simulation and tooling team to build out key capabilities for experts who develop and deploy mapping and localization systems.In addition to your engineering contributions, by working in our dynamic and customer-focused team culture, you will be a key contributor for a new business that builds on and informs best practices in the nascent autonomy industry. If you are hands-on engineering leader looking for a place to have a multiplying effect on making autonomous systems a reality, Applied Intuition is the place for you!At Applied Intuition, you will:Guide the team in designing and implementing a top-notch mapping and localization system capable of running on a variety of off-road vehicles, providing lifelong mapping and localization in dynamic environmentsDesign and implement foundations and cutting-edge tools for users to lean heavily on mapping and localization data, for drivers inside the vehicle and for operators managing fleets and operationsApply automated techniques to generate maps from raw data, improving our internal tools for viewing and editing mapsScale our systems to support mapping the world by developing robust localization algorithms that use inertial sensors, magnetometers, GNSS, differential antennas, real-time kinematic, and other various localization sensors and solutionsWe're looking for someone who has:MSc in mapping, localization, or closely related field2+ years of experience leading a localization, mapping, and/or calibration team6+ yrs of experience building software components or (sub) systems that address real-world mapping and localization challengesDeep understanding of the core localization concepts, world representations and transforms, the intersection of mapping of localization, and error analysis and characterizationKnowledge about how to analyze and compare the performance of various hardware solutions for localizationC++ and/or Python programming expertiseNice to have:PhD in mapping, localization, or closely related fieldDeep hands-on expertise in relevant algorithms or methods, such as SLAM, probabilistic filtering, non-linear optimization, computational geometry, numerical analysis, or distributed systemsExperience with large-scale data processing using frameworksDeep understanding of sensors used for localization, state of the art industry solutions, and common approaches for production systemsThe salary range for this position is $65,000 USD to $400,000 USD annually. This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the Company's compensation practices.Don’t meet every single requirement?
